‘THE BEAT CLUB’
For their Autumn/Winter 2018 Collection Electronic Sheep dig deep to reveal their true spirit - combining nostalgia, rock n roll with cut n paste graphic style in their fascinating knits.
Established 20 years, Electronic Sheep fluently entwine drawings from their archive with typography, collage, gig flyers and zines. Authentic is their middle name – each piece has a story – the collection will resonate with any music lover and beyond. Vinyl collections, characters from their eponymous comic, skulls, trees, spray cans and soda bottles are woven together in this visually and technically ground breaking knitwear.
‘The Beat Club’ was a dive bar that the designers frequented as teenagers.
The memories and ephemera from that world fits with their contemporary style as they present monotone and colourful knits in the form of unisex scarves, dresses and tops. The collaboration pieces with Willy Carroll of ‘Stone Age’ Fanzine in London adds to their love of old school, underground authenticity.
‘The Beat Club’ collection is vibrant, fun and the genuine article.
Electronic Sheep is designers Brenda Aherne and Helen Delany. They established the label in 1998 and have been friends since childhood.
