Electronic Sheep have released a limited edition scarf to celebrate Spring events, history and beyond. With two key dates in March – Saint Patrick's Day and Mother's Day.
In Electronic Sheep's renowned illustrative style a girl sits by the River Liffey reading the first edition of Vogue; in the distance are architectural drawings of the historic landmarks The GPO and O'Connell Street's cityscape. The designers both from North Dublin value this particular central spot of Dublin; from the ritual of crossing O'Connell Bridge to a personal connection with The GPO* and Clerys*.
The complexities of the scarf go beyond its playful drawing as it explores a year (1916) of monumental historic events, from the political (the Easter Rising in Ireland; the flight of the first airship over Dublin; the birth of DaDa in Zurich) to the cultural (the launch of British Vogue; the publication of James Joyce’s first novel).
*Helen's mother worked as the first window dresser in Clerys Department Store from the 1950s; Brenda met her husband in The GPO.
